From July 5-10, 2026, Group Captain Soraphat Phetmongkol, Thai Air Force Attaché/Seoul, Warrant Officer Somkiat Rodphothong, Clerk at the Thai Air Force Attaché Office/Seoul, and Ms. Preedaphon Teerathani, Interpreter, welcomed Air Vice Marshal Santi Kaewsondhi, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Air Force, and his delegation. The visit included an assessment of the T-50 aircraft maintenance facility and a tour of KAI's operations. The delegation also received a briefing and viewed the KF-21 fighter aircraft, as well as visited Wonju Air Base, Wing 8 and Wing 53, units operating T-50 and FA-50 aircraft, and the Black Eagles aerobatic team.
This trip provided an opportunity for the delegation to exchange views with relevant agencies regarding maintenance, technical support, and aircraft operations. The delegation also received updates on the progress of the KF-21 fighter aircraft project, which will be beneficial in developing the future capabilities of the Royal Thai Air Force. Furthermore, they promoted the upcoming 90th anniversary celebrations of the Royal Thai Air Force, inviting friendly nations to participate.
In addition, the delegation met and exchanged experiences with students undergoing staff officer training at the Korean Air Force and Thai Air Force cadets studying in Korea. They also visited the office of the Thai Air Attaché in Seoul to offer encouragement to the staff.
This mission was successfully completed, achieving its objectives and contributing to strengthening the good relations and cooperation between the Royal Thai Air Force and the Air Force of the Republic of Korea.
