The Department of National Defense (DND) on July 13 has released photos of BRP Antonio Luna (FF-151), one of the Philippines’ brand new missile frigates, securing the Malampaya gas field off the coast of Palawan.
The exact date of when the photo was taken was not specified.
The Philippine Navy on June 10 deployed RP Antonio Luna to Naval Forces West (NAVFORWEST) in Palawan.
Philippine Navy chief Rear Admiral Adeluis Bordado urged the officers and sailors of FF151, “who will sail one of the most advanced platforms that will fly the national ensign” to “sail boldly.”
“I want you to know how much pride and honor you carry and magnify for the entire Command by carrying the Philippine flag during your first and most challenging mission yet. Make waves, bow, and winds obey,” added Bordado.
