The Royal Thai Navy has revealed the progress of the "Frigate Procurement Project", stating that six companies from several countries have submitted proposals. The process of evaluating technical and price details is now underway, and is expected to take approximately one month.

On April 22, 2026, Rear Admiral Parach Rattanachaiyapan, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Navy, explained the progress of the frigate procurement project. Following the initial invitation to 11 capable and experienced frigate-building companies from various countries to submit proposals, the deadline has passed, with 6 companies submitting proposals.

1. Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (Republic of Korea)

2. Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd. (Republic of Singapore)

3. ASFAT Shipyards A.Ş. (Republic of Türkiye)

4. TAIS Shipyards A.Ş. (Republic of Türkiye)

5. Hanwha Ocean Co., Ltd. (Republic of Korea)

6. Navantia SA (Kingdom of Spain)

Five companies failed to submit proposals within the specified timeframe. The Royal Thai Navy's proposal submission process was conducted under the observation of a panel of observers in accordance with the Integrity Pact, ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness to all parties.

In the next step, the committee appointed by the Royal Thai Navy will meticulously review the proposals from all companies, covering key aspects including the qualifications of the bidders, technical proposals, economic and industrial compensation (offset) proposals, and price proposals. This review process is expected to take approximately one month to ensure a thorough, rigorous, and beneficial assessment for the country.
