The Philippine Air Force (PAF) inaugurated its first 2-in-1 Full Motion Flight Simulator (FMFS) and its training facility on December 10, 2025, at Brigadier General Benito N Ebuen Air Base, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, marking a significant advancement in the PAF’s flight training capabilities.
Lieutenant General Arthur M Cordura PAF, Commanding General of the PAF, led the ceremony, joined by Major General Ramil G Oloroso PAF, Commander of the Air Mobility Command, and Brigadier General Moises L Micor PAF, Wing Commander of the 205ᵗʰ Tactical Helicopter Wing.
Acquired under Horizon 1 of the AFP Modernization Program (RA 10349), the simulator, delivered by SIMULTEC SRL of Romania, features two interchangeable cockpits for the S-70i Black Hawk and Bell 412EP helicopters. The system was installed on August 18, 2025, and successfully passed the Final Technical Inspection and Acceptance on November 30, 2025.
The FMFS provides PAF pilots with immersive, realistic, and safe flight training, enabling them to practice complex procedures and emergency scenarios while reducing the use of actual aircraft.
This capability enhances pilot proficiency, minimizes operational risks, optimizes training during aircraft downtime, and contributes to long-term cost savings on fuel and maintenance.
LtGen Cordura emphasized that the new simulator strengthens the PAF’s mission readiness and supports the growing training demands for its expanding helicopter fleet.
As the PAF pushes forward with its modernization efforts, the FMFS stands as a major step toward more advanced, efficient, and globally aligned training systems for PAF airmen.
