The Royal Thai Marine Corps (RTMC) and Royal Thai Navy (RTN) have received six additional Thai-made 155mm self-propelled M758 ATMG (Autonomous Truck-Mounted Gun) field guns. The delivery ceremony took place at the Marine Corps Headquarters, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province, Thailand, on 21 August 2025.
Six M758 ATMG wheeled self-propelled howitzers, automatic fire-direction and control vehicles and weather radar vehicles mounted on Indian TATA trucks, will be inducted into the Marine Artillery Regiment, Royal Thai Marine Division, which already has six ATMG wheeled self-propelled howitzers in service.
The ATMG wheeled self-propelled howitzer is produced by the Weapon Production Center, Defense Industry and Energy Center (WPC), Ministry of Defense, in Lopburi Province.
A contract to produce additional ATMG wheeled self-propelled howitzers for the Marines was awarded in 2023. The acceptance, live-fire testing and personnel training for the use of the new ATMG self-propelled howitzer system took place at the Royal Thai Army Artillery Center (RTA) in Lopburi Province on 7 August 2025.
The M758 ATMG wheeled self-propelled howitzer is based on the 155 mm/52 calibre ATMOS self-propelled artillery system from Israeli company Elbit Systems, integrated with a 10-tonne Tatra 6x6 truck chassis from the Czech Republic, which has been produced for service in the Royal Thai Army and the Royal Thai Marine Corps, totaling more than 42 systems.
While the Royal Thai Marines have already received 12 ATMG 155mm wheeled self-propelled howitzers, the Royal Thai Marines are also scheduled to receive the M361 ATMM (Autonomous Truck-Mounted Mortar) 120mm wheeled self-propelled mortar, also produced in Thailand by the Royal Thai Marine Corps (RTMC), which will be their first self-propelled mortar system.
