Vietnam Introduces Anti-Drone Weapons

In recent years, applying the achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, a series of new generation unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with outstanding features in terms of operating range, flight speed, stealth capability, carrying many types of weapons, flying in autonomous mode, open structure, easy to improve... have been researched and developed by the armies of many countries.

Currently, the trend of manufacturing modern small and super small UAV models, which are very difficult to detect and destroy, is used by many countries' armies in missions: reconnaissance, early warning, target designation, decoy, and attack, creating new methods and tactics of combat, difficult to deal with, especially suicide attack tactics, swarm style. This is a new factor in air attacks, causing a challenging threat to national defense and security and opening a revolution in air combat that has been posing very high requirements, demands,  and new difficulties and challenges for air defense and air force units (PK-KQ).

To successfully complete the task of combat readiness and airspace management, in addition to doing a good job of propaganda, education, building the will to fight, daring to fight, knowing how to fight, and determined to defeat enemy UAVs in all situations for the troops, it is necessary to focus on solving the following issues:

First, regularly monitor, research, and grasp the development and plots and tricks of using UAVs by hostile forces.

Second, build a solid, widespread, and interconnected air defense posture, promptly detect and be ready to destroy UAVs in all situations.

Third, research and develop programs and content, strengthen training, and practice combat operations against UAVs for the subjects.

Fourth, promote international cooperation, purchase of technical equipment and materials; improve the quality of research, repair, upgrade, design, and manufacture of weapons and equipment to prevent and combat UAVs.

Continue to invest in research and improve existing weapons, equipment, and military-aircraft defense equipment, especially a large number of old-generation weapons and equipment; gradually master the techniques and technology of designing and manufacturing electronic reconnaissance equipment, technical reconnaissance equipment, camouflage equipment, decoy equipment, and radio suppression equipment to ensure the prevention and combat of UAVs; develop a plan for research and testing to improve features, and move towards producing UAVs to attack enemy UAVs.
