In addition to a proposal to export 12 new upgraded FA-50 Fighting Eagle and upgrade the current 12 FA-50, KAI also made a proposal to export the KF-21 Boramae for its multi-role fighter requirements.

The Proposal was said to be based on the Philippine Air Force current multi-role fighter acquisition Phase 1 with a budget of around 12 billion pesos which was originally based on Saab's offer to sell 12 to 14 new JAS Gripen.

Apparently 10 units of the KF 21 Block-1 including ILS can be acquired based on the multi-role fighter Phase 1 budget.

Block 1 has full air-to-air capability but limited air-to-ground capabilities making it initially more suitable for Air Defense and Air Interdictions.
