RTAF and RSAF Hold Opening Ceremony for AIR THAISING 2024 Joint Exercise

Air Thaising joint exercise first began in 1983 under the training code "AIR THAISING 1/83", at Paya Lebar Air Force Base. Singapore (photos: RTAF)Exercise AIR THAISING 2024 is a bilateral exercise between the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), which has returned to be held again after the last exercise in 1995, after the first trilateral exercise Cope Tiger between Thailand, Singapore and the United States Air Force (USAF) in 1996.
The AIR THAISING 2024 joint exercise between 8-18 July 2024, which had an opening ceremony on 8 July 2024 at Wing 1 Korat in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand, the Republic of Singapore Air Force sent 4 Boeing F-15SG Strike Eagle fighter aircraft from Squadron 149 (149 Squadron), 2 Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Block 52 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft from Squadron 143 (143 Squadron), and F-16D Block 52+ Squadron 145 (145 Squadron) in the amount of 2 aircraft from the Fighter Training Detachment (EFTD: Establishment of a Fighter Training Detachment) stationed at Wing 23, Udon Thani.
As for the Royal Thai Air Force, it is likely to send fighter aircraft F-16A/B Block 15 OCU/ADF from Squadron 103, Wing 1 to join the training, as the squadron is already based at Korat Air Force Base, and it is likely to include other aircraft.
In addition, the Royal Thai Air Force has also sent 5 Saab Gripen C/D fighter aircraft from Squadron 701, Wing 7, Surat Thani, and 1 Lockheed Martin C-130H Hercules transport aircraft from Squadron 601, Wing 6, Don Mueang, to participate in the Pitch Black 2024 international air exercise in Australia from July 12 to August 2, 2024.
