The Naval Shipyard successfully conducted the docking and undocking of BRP LOLINATO TO-ONG (PG902) at the Naval Shipbuilding Center (NSC) Wharf from March 11 to13.
The endeavor was undertaken as part of the transfer of technology in connection with the revitalization of shipbuilding capability and as a preparation for the upcoming modular assembly of one (1) Fast Attack Interdiction Craft - Missile (FAIC-M) at NSC.
To maximize the activity, the conduct of maintenance and inspection of bottom hull and underwater appendages of said vessel were also conducted.
More importantly, it is the first drydocking activity for the NSC since the completion of its rehabilitation and development.
PG902 is first of the two (2) ships delivered and commissioned out of the nine (9) initial FAIC-M Acquisition Project of the Philippine Navy.
Categorized as an Acero-class patrol gunboat of the PN, the vessel was commissioned on 28 November 2022.
The three(3)-day activity was successfully accomplished with the combined effort of the NSC personnel together with the unit’s shop personnel and facilitated by a team from Israel Shipyard Limited Management - a milestone indeed for the Naval Shipbuilding Center and the Naval Shipyard.
