The Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6), Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL) Diponegoro-class corvette KRI Diponegoro (365), and Martadinata-class frigate KRI I Gusti Ngurah Rai (332) transit the Java Sea during Cooperation Afloat and Readiness and Training (CARAT) Indonesia 2021.

In its 27th year, the CARAT series is comprised of multinational exercises, designed to enhance U.S. and partner navies’ abilities to operate together in response to traditional and non-traditional maritime security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
