At the recent Tank Crew Sports Festival of the entire army, Vietnamese tanks trained according to Army Games regulations and achieved high results.


According to the Navy newspaper, in the end, the PT-76 tank crew number 108 belonging to Battalion 1047, Brigade 147, Region 1 of the Navy performed excellently, winning the second prize of the whole army of PT-76 tanks.


To get this result, the crew members made great efforts, overcome difficulties, practiced in the training ground to practice comprehensive skills. The crew of the vehicle took the second prize in the general shooting test, first aid for wounded soldiers and folded canvas, and was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Tank and Armor Command.


"I have participated in many competitions and sports festivals at all levels, but this contest left the most impressions and memories. I drove the car in the finish line, sometimes reaching 43.6 km/h (transportation), design speed of the vehicle 44 km/h).


The contest contents have close synergies, rhythmic coordination, combining tactical techniques with the strength of physical strength to compete with your unit. My experience in the sports festival is the humility to learn and draw on the experiences of the previous generations," said Captain Tong Duy Tho, the driver.

The mixed driving test - a content applied according to the Army Games' competition rules is really hot. Receiving orders, loading ammunition, entering the firing line to destroy the target and then overcoming natural and man-made obstacles within a distance of 5km, these actions require the skillful coordination and regular practice of the whole crew first when entering the game.


"The tank#108 crew has successfully completed the assigned task. The achievements at the sports festival have reflected the unit's level, ability to use the car as well as the excellent training and emulation movement of the unit over the years.


Experience is a valuable lesson for the unit to apply in training to meet the demand for reinforcement in the direction of the sea and islands," commented Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Thanh, Head of Tank-Armor Brigade 147.
