According to Mr. Bekkhan Ozdoev, only with the active defense system (APS) Arena-M, Russian tanks can block anti-tank missiles from attacking from all directions.

Mr. Bekkhan Ozdoev is currently the industrial director of the Federation of State Corporations Rostec said that Arena-M was developed with practical experience in the battlefield, so the ability to deal with anti-tank missiles is highly appreciated. Currently, Javelin and Spike are completely within their capabilities.

"The Arena-M complex is built on the basis of state-of-the-art elements, and its technical-tactical properties have significantly increased. The complex is able to block ammunition coming in from any direction.

Its ability is so high that it can intercept all types of advanced anti-tank guided missiles, including the infamous Javelin and Spike when attacking from above.

In our opinion, not only is the agreement of Russian experts but also foreign experts are shared, without active protection, the operational problem cannot be solved.

Active protection systems will be used not only to protect armored vehicle tanks but also other vehicles," said Mr. Bekkhan Ozdoev.

In terms of design, a complete Arena-M system consisting of a sensor station was located near the end of the turret. Inside the sensor station is equipped with a multi-function Doppler pulse radar, which has a 360-degree scanning range around the vehicle.

An interceptor system consisting of 26 bullets was arranged around the turret, providing an interception from 220-270 degrees forward and on the sides of the tank. Arena-M is equipped with a digitally controlled computer. The system operates as follows:

The sensing system will scan the area around the tank to detect threats from anti-tank weapons. When an anti-tank missile is launched towards the tank, the target parameters will be transmitted to the computer control system.

Based on the missile's coordinates and speed, the control computer will activate the interceptor system in a suitable position. Arena-M will launch a rectangular ammo detonated about 1.5 meters from the tank, when exploded, it will release thousands of small shrapnel to destroy the missile or warhead of other anti-tank weapons.

The Arena-M system has a target response time of only 0.07 seconds, and it can deal with targets up to 700m/s. The APS system is also capable of identifying drones and small caliber armor-piercing bullets that are not capable of threatening tanks.

The Arena-M system provides a protection range of approximately 50 meters around the tank. Previous Kubinka field tests showed that the Arena system successfully defended the tank against attack with controlled anti-tank missiles and dynamic armor-piercing bullets using a fixed beam.

Main battle tanks equipped with Arena will be 3 times more likely to survive on the battlefield than tanks equipped with other APS systems. If Arena-M combined with the soft defense system Shtora, the protection would greatly increase.

The Arena-M system is being tested on the T-80UM1 main battle tank and according to some sources, this APS system is also being used on Russian armored vehicles operating in Syria and it has been shown. proves his strength and reliability.

In addition, Arena-M was also introduced with a variant of the upgraded BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle. Export variant Arena-E comes with the main battle tank T-72B3. APS Arena-M is expected to bring a new strength to Russia's main battle tank as well as other tanks and armored vehicles.
