Amphibious action Exercise Joint Waka saw our Royal New Zealand Navy, New Zealand Army, and Royal New Zealand Air Force take to the shores of Army Bay, Whangaparaoa, this week.
The tri-service exercise tested our personnel during Humanitarian and Disaster Relief scenarios which included:
- Transportation of Army units from HMNZS Canterbury’s landing craft to survey beach locations.
- Utilising our Army's Beach Preparation Recovery vehicle, and a trackway deployed by a dispenser attached to a CAT938k loader. These capabilities ease the movement of stores and aid from ship to shore.
