Naval Region 3 Conducts Live-fire Exercises and Torpedo Firing Drills at Sea

QDND -- On June 10th and 11th, in the waters off Da Nang, the Command of Naval Region 3 conducted an inspection and evaluation of the results of the first phase of combat training in 2026 for its subordinate ship units.

The inspection focused on live firing of guns and artillery; torpedo training; and the first mine-laying and sweeping exercise of 2026, according to the combat training plan of the 3rd Naval Region.

The inspection aims to assess the level of command and control, coordination capabilities, and proficiency in operating and mastering weapons and technical equipment of officers and soldiers; the command and maneuvering capacity of commanding officers and captains in handling tactical situations at sea; and to check coordination and cooperation with related forces in ensuring the fulfillment of missions.

To successfully complete the inspection, the units made thorough preparations in terms of personnel, equipment, and technical weapons; proactively supplemented materials and maintained sufficient reserves according to the required quotas, developed technical support plans, and promptly addressed any arising situations.

The inspection results showed that 100% achieved good or excellent ratings; the units successfully completed their tasks according to plan, ensuring absolute safety for personnel and weapons and technical equipment.

This inspection serves as an important basis for the Command of Naval Region 3 to realistically assess the results of training phase I, draw lessons learned, and continue to improve the quality of training in the next phase, meeting the requirements of firmly protecting the sovereignty of the nation's seas and islands in the new situation.
