On Thursday, June 25, 2026, DESAN successfully held the "Laying the Keel" ceremony for the second Multi-Purpose Coast Guard Vessel (MPMS-2) that we built for the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).

The ceremony was attended by DESAN Shipyard's senior management, as well as the Malaysian Consul General in Istanbul, Ahmad Amiri Abu Bakar, the Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs representative Shah Rizan bin Mohamad Sirat, the Coast Guard Command representative Rear Admiral Zulinda binti Ramly, and the Malaysian Military Attaché, Colonel Sazili Bin Ghazali.

With this significant ceremony, we have taken an important step in the production phase where the main framework of MPMS-2 is taking shape.

This project, which we are carrying out with great discipline, will be the largest and most effective platform in the Malaysian Coast Guard Command's inventory, with its 99-meter length, fast intervention boats, unmanned surface vessels, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

As our Chairman of the Board, Cenk İsmail Kaptanoğlu, emphasized, this project, which is ahead of schedule, is one of the most concrete indicators of the long-term strategic partnership between Turkey and Malaysia. We are determined to continue bringing Turkey's engineering power and the advanced technology components of the Turkish defense industry to Malaysian waters and writing new success stories!
