From June 9th to 19th, Brigade 170, Naval Region 1, conducted training and inspection of K2 at sea and the first live-fire exercise of 2026.

Immediately after receiving orders from higher command, the Party Committee and the Brigade's command focused on leading and directing agencies and units to quickly and comprehensively prepare for the mission. The forces were fully briefed on the directives of the Commander of Naval Region 1 ; assigned tasks, developed and approved plans, and provided maritime skills training for officers at all levels; assigned command responsibilities effectively; and simultaneously inspected, reviewed, and ensured thorough preparation in terms of personnel, weapons, technical equipment, vehicles, logistics, and safety measures. Tactical briefings were organized, and various scenarios were practiced to improve coordination capabilities and the ability to handle situations at sea.

The brigade effectively implemented Party and political work activities in line with mission requirements; it did a good job in political and ideological education, propaganda, and motivating the troops. It organized and launched a surprise emulation campaign to awaken the determination and sense of responsibility of officers and soldiers; creating a vibrant and widespread atmosphere throughout the unit.

The ship's officers, departmental officers, and professional staff are highly competent, responsible, united, and determined to excellently fulfill their duties. The officers and soldiers have good professional skills, have received basic training, and are proficient in using the technical equipment assigned to them.

The training and testing content will focus on operating combat deployment boards on the ship and handling situations close to real combat scenarios, live firing of the ship's guns and cannons (first time in 2026); and torpedo firing practice.

Results: The torpedo training exercise was successfully conducted according to plan; 100% of live-fire gun and ship artillery shots achieved good or excellent results; targets were destroyed with the first salvo, ensuring absolute safety for personnel and weapons and technical equipment.

The K2 training and inspection mission at sea, including the first live-fire exercise in 2026, is one of the central political tasks. Successfully completing this mission affirms the leadership capacity, organizational and command skills, coordination abilities, and mastery of weapons, equipment, and technology of the officers, soldiers, and non-commissioned officers of the Brigade, contributing to building a strong, comprehensive, "exemplary and outstanding" Brigade; and firmly protecting the sovereignty  of the nation's seas and islands .
