On Friday 15 May 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence the Hon Richard Marles MP announced the official opening of the Deep Maintenance and Modification Facility at RAAF Base Edinburgh.
This facility will accommodate the long-term, deep maintenance and modification of the Australian Defence Force's fleet of RAAF P-8A Poseidon maritime surveillance aircraft and RAAF E-7A Wedgetail airborne early warning and control aircraft.
