Celebrating the Delivery of BHO to the Inonesian Navy

Today we proudly accompanied the ceremonial hand‑over of the Hydrographic Survey Vessel BHO to the Indonesian Marine. 

Designed for geological, hydrographic & oceanographic operations throughout the Indonesian EEZ, BHO is contributing significantly to maritime safety and scientific capability.

Despite the rain, the ceremony was truly impressive and emotional—reflecting the dedication of everyone involved. We wish the crew and the Indonesian Navy all the best for successful missions ahead and always safe seas. (Abeking & Rasmussen)


Survey Vessel for Indonesia Reach a Major Milestone

Today we proudly accompanied the ceremonial hand‑over of the Hydrographic Survey Vessel BHO to the Indonesian Marine.

Designed for geological, hydrographic & oceanographic operations throughout the Indonesian EEZ, BHO is contributing significantly to maritime safety and scientific capability.

Despite the rain, the ceremony was truly impressive and emotional—reflecting the dedication of everyone involved. We wish the crew and the Indonesian Navy all the best for successful missions ahead and always safe seas.

Today was a proud and emotional moment for everyone involved in this vessel’s journey.

Last year, Fassmer delivered this state-of-the-art naval survey vessel to our partner ABEKING & RASMUSSEN Schiffs- und Yachtwerft SE.

Today, the vessel reached a new milestone in her lifetime: during the official ship naming, delivery and naval commissioning ceremony held in Lemwerder, she was formally handed over to the Indonesian Navy and commissioned as KRI Canopus.

Raising of the Indonesian naval ensign on the vessel during today’s ceremony, marked the transition from construction to operational service. The vessel is now ready to begin her mission, supporting geological, hydrographic and oceanographic survey operations in the Indonesian EEZ.

Witnessing a ship we helped bring to life taking this final step into active service is always something special. It stands for trust, international cooperation and the dedication of everyone involved throughout the project.
