105mm Hydrographic Vessel Leaves Our Largest Hall
Another newbuild from ABEKING & RASMUSSEN Schiffs- und Yachtwerft SE has successfully left our largest shipbuilding hall in Lemwerder. This 105-meter hydrographic vessel for Indonesia was developed in close cooperation with Fr. Fassmer GmbH & Co. KG and has now been handed over to its natural element.

Unlike previous launches from this hall, the vessel was not transferred onto a fixed barge via the traditional rail system. Instead, it was moved using self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs), which allow for transfer across height differences, varying inclinations, and even onto a floating barge.

This innovative approach enabled a smooth operation from the hall directly onto the barge deck.

The key: an 'in-house developped carrier system' that allows seamless switching between the proven but rigid rail system and the highly flexible SPMTs.

This breakthrough opens up entirely new possibilities for our shipyard. Using this method, docking operations for vessels up to 125 meters in length can now be realized.

A great step forward for flexibility, efficiency, and future shipbuilding projects.
