On April 17, 2025, Admiral Chirapol Wongwit, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy and Deputy Director of the Marine Department, presided over the signing ceremony of the contract for the purchase of 1 UAV system, together with Mr. Pirachai Bencharongkul, Chief Executive Officer of United Telecom Sales and Services Co., Ltd., with Admiral Pairoj Fuangchan, Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Navy and Secretary-General of the Marine Department, and Rear Admiral Chumpol Nakbua, Director of the Marine Department's Office of the Marine Department, as witnesses, and Admiral Prakob Suksamai, Deputy Secretary-General of the Marine Department, and the Marine Department's executives as witnesses at the Wuttichai Chalermlap Room, 2nd floor, Royal Thai Navy Building.
By purchasing 1 UAV system, it is in accordance with the Prime Minister/Director of the Marine Police Center's kind approval for the Marine Police Center to proceed with the purchase with the main objective of searching and rescuing people in distress at sea, patrolling, inspecting and recording images to be used as evidence in prosecuting those who violate the law in the maritime territory of Thailand.

The UAV that the Marine Police Center has purchased this time is a rotary wing type, manufactured by Evolve Dynamics, Sweden, in the APID One model, which will have a flight time of not less than 6 hours, with a weight of additional equipment or payload of not less than 20 kilograms, a maximum speed of not less than 140 kilometers and a maximum ceiling of not less than 10,000 feet, and can control the aircraft and receive - send data from the communication system in all directions 360 degrees, covering a distance of not less than 100 kilometers, with an efficient processing system. It can link the ground control system with the UAV in real time and can take off and land on ships with helicopter decks, such as offshore patrol vessels.
The UAVs purchased by the Marine Department will be equipped with equipment such as the IFF Transponder Mode-S identification system, the AIS (Automatic Identification System) ship position display system, high-quality EO/IR cameras, high-quality still cameras with color cameras and thermal imagers for continuous scanning (EO/IR Wide area automated maritime search sensor) and radar, as well as being able to release at least 2 personal life jackets during the flight.
