Hanwha, LIG Nex1, KAI Show Off K-Defense Capabilities at Philippine Defense Exhibition

The three defense companies of Hanwha Group, including Hanwha Systems, Hanwha Ocean, and Hanwha Aerospace, as well as domestic defense companies including LIG Nex1 and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), will showcase their K-defense capabilities at the international defense exhibition 'ADAS 2024' held in the Philippines until the 27th.

ADAS, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, is the largest defense exhibition held in the Asia-Pacific region, which is K-Defense's largest customer.

The three defense companies of Hanwha Group announced on the 25th that they have set up an integrated booth at this exhibition.

Hanwha Systems will introduce hyper-connected solutions that connect land, coasts, and oceans based on low-orbit satellite communications, as well as cutting-edge and future marine system capabilities. It will also exhibit the surface ship Integrated Combat System (ICS) and submarine Combat System (CMS).

Hanwha Ocean will exhibit two types of medium-sized submarines, including the 2,800-ton Jangbogo-Ⅲ PN, and a 4,000-ton frigate for export developed in-house.

The Jangbogo-Ⅲ PN, independently designed by Hanwha Ocean, is a model proposed for the Philippine Navy by improving the Jangbogo-Ⅲ Batch-Ⅱ submarine, which is evaluated to have the strongest armament capability and longest submerged endurance among existing diesel-powered submarines.

Hanwha Ocean is seeking to export to the Philippine Navy by offering solutions as a package, including not only submarines but also MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) and crew education and training programs.
