Thailand to Modify BT-67 Aircraft and to Improve Capability of C-130H Hercules

Basler BT-67 of the RTAF (photo: RTAF)The Directorate of Operations (DO) of the Royal Thai Air Force announced on 10 June 2024 , the project to modify the transport aircraft BT-67 Squadron 461, Wing 46, Phitsanulok for royal rainmaking missions, budget 470,000,000 baht ($12,816,148). The source of the median price is Asian Aerospace Services, Thailand, TAI, Thailand and RV Connex, Thailand, which are mostly procured and operated by the domestic aviation industry of Thailand.

And announced on June 12, 2024, the project to improve the capability of the C-130H Hercules transport aircraft, Squadron 601, Wing 6, Don Mueang, Phase 3, budget 2,820,000,000 baht ($76,895.84). The source of the median price is StandardAero Company, Canada, Industria de Aviacao E Servicos S/A(IAS) Company, Brazil, Turbopower Company, USA, Hanwha Aerospace Company, Republic of Korea, Airod Techno Power Sdn.Bhd., Malaysia and TAI, Thailand,
This project shows that the Royal Thai Air Force has the intention to continue to extend the service life and modernize its C-130 transport aircraft to continue to be used as has been completed in the Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects previously. In Phase 3, both improvements in Thailand and improvements from other countries are being considered.
