At the live ammunition shooting and bombing drill, pilots and flight crews practiced attacking ground targets during the day and at night with the following contents: Flying bombs, shooting missiles, simple mobile rockets, and mechanical rockets. Complex operations by squadron and single unit, on Su-30MK2 and Mi-8 aircraft. During the process of preparing and practicing flying and shooting, the units performed well in command and control; Ensuring good technique, logistics, and information - radar in all stages. The team of pilots and flight crew members are carefully prepared in terms of technical skills, tactics, bravery, and psychology.
In 2 days (March 26 and 27), at the National Shooting Range Region 3 (TB-3); The Air Defense - Air Force (PK-KQ) successfully organized the 2024 Live Fire and Bombing Exercise for air force units, including: Regiment 917, Regiment 935 (Division 370); Regiment 916, Regiment 923, Regiment 927 (Division 371). Monitoring and directing the exercise were Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son - Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien - Commander of the Army; Lieutenant General Tran Ngoc Quyen - Political Commissar of the Army; Major General Vu Hong Son - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Army; Heads of agencies and a number of some functional departments of the Air Force - VPAF.
With a total of 27 flights using weapons and 30 successful attacks on targets, the live ammunition shooting and bombing drill at the TB-3 shooting range has successfully completed the set goals and requirements. Absolute safety is guaranteed. The results of live firing and bombing exercises accurately reflected the combat training results of the units; and contributed to training and improving the qualifications, experience, and fighting spirit of pilots and flight crew members; at the flight command level. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for units to check the quality of operation of aircraft systems, the working ability of stations and communication means, and enhance the ability to ensure operations. flight of units. Thereby improving the level and combat readiness of Air Force units, meeting mission requirements in the coming time.
At the end of the exercise, 100% achieved good and excellent scores, of which 73% achieved excellent scores; and 27% achieved excellent results. Among them, Regiment 917 (Division 370) had 100% excellent results. At the Drill Commentary Conference, the Army awarded certificates of merit to 2 groups and 6 individuals for their outstanding achievements in carrying out live fire and bombing drills at the TB-3 shooting range in 2024.
