RTAF Held a Ceremony to Decommission the 19 PC-9 Mustang Training Aircraft

Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) held a formal decommissioning ceremony for its Pilatus PC-9 Mustang trainer aircraft at RTAF Flying Training School Kamphaeng Saen in Nakhon Pathom Province on 2 February 2024 (photos: Sompong Nondhasa)
The official retirement ceremony of the Type 19 training aircraft Pilatus PC-9 Mustang, took place at the flying training school, Kamphaeng Saen District Nakhon Pathom Province of the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) on February 2, 2024.
The retirement comes after the last class of flight students to train on the 19th PC-9 training aircraft graduated within a year, 2023, of which 26 PC-9 units have been in service since 1991 and began to gradually be phased out in 2021.
PC-9 has been replaced by Beechcraft T-6TH (T-6C) Texan II trainer aircraft, which are fully operational. 12 machines on August 22, 2023, marking the end of a period of service for 32 years.
